Kedarnath Mountain is a group of two mountains of Kedarnath peak or Kedarnath main and Kedarnath Dome peaks in the western Garhwal Himalayas.
Kedarnath is the highest peak in the south of gangotri glacier, and Kedarnath Dome is the third highest peak.

Place of Kedarnath Mountain
These are located in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand, Which is 15 kilometres (9 miles) away from the Hindu holy site of Gaumukh, which is the source of the River Bhagirathi. The Kedarnath peak is located on the main ridge which is located south of the Gangotri Glacier, And the Kedarnath Dome is a sub-peak of the main peak, Which is towards the glacier in two kms north west of Kedarnath.
First ascent of Kedarnath Mountain
Both peaks have relatively easy routes on the northwest sides, But the former mouth of the Kedarnath Dome soars on a huge and very difficult rock. The Kedarnath dome grows to a height of 6,831 metres and is seen up to 100 metres.
In the year 1947, both Kedarnath and Kedarnath Dome were is first climbed together by a Swiss team led by André Roach. His route to the Kedarnath Dome was the edge of the north-west, It is still considered a standard route and is availed of by most of the climbers. It is straight and relatively low angle. The eastern face of the Kedarnath Dome was first met by the Hungarian expedition led by Etilla Ozswith in 1989. There was a very rough route climb in their ascent.

It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest Hindu temple of Shiva. The temple has been settled near the Mandakini River. The temple is said to have been built by Pandavas.
